Bend: 171 sales at a median of $205,000 (+18% from a year earlier), and the typical home went under contract in 41 days. Redmond: 46 sales at a median of $107,750 (+3% from a year earlier), and the typical home went under contract in 44 days.
The median home sold for $167,750 in August 2011, against a range of $138,900 to $260,000 since September 2008.

The median single-family home on less than an acre in Bend sold for $205,000 in August, up 18% from August 2010. 171 sold, 40 more than August 2010. Homes that sold went under contract in a median of 41 days. At the end of August, 731 were for sale against 934 sales over the past six months: 4.7 months of supply, a balanced market by our measure (above 4 and under 6 months is balanced). By price the market splits: Under $400K ran as a seller's market, while $400K to $500K gave buyers more room.
