Overview
Eagle Crest is a 1,700-acre destination resort community 6 miles west of downtown Redmond on Cline Falls Road, at 3,622 feet along the east slopes of Cline Buttes and the Deschutes River canyon. It is one of eight official destination resorts under Oregon's land-use program. Established in 1985, it was developed in phases over three decades, adding gated residential enclaves and three golf courses.
The resort operates three 18-hole courses open to residents and guests. The Resort Course (6,672 yards, par 72), designed by Gene Mason, runs along the Deschutes River canyon rim. The Ridge Course (6,927 yards, par 72) by John Thronson threads through native juniper and has hosted the Oregon Open. The Challenge Course (4,160 yards, par 63) is a quicker executive layout.
Residential areas run under the Eagle Crest Master Association and, separately, The Ridge at Eagle Crest HOA. The Lodge at Eagle Crest holds 100 hotel rooms and 80 condominium units alongside a 10,000-square-foot conference center. Three sports centers, Resort, Ridge, and Lakeside, provide year-round recreation. The community sits 16 miles from Bend and 14 miles from Smith Rock State Park.
