Overview
Three Rivers is a census-designated community in south Deschutes County, south of Sunriver and north of La Pine, just west of US-97. The name comes from three waterways that converge in the area: the Deschutes River to the west, the Little Deschutes River to the east, and the spring-fed Spring River to the north. Elevation is 4,187 feet, and the 2020 census counted 3,925 residents across 7.53 square miles.
The area is made up of more than 20 distinct residential subdivisions at varying price points, from manufactured homes on smaller lots to riverfront properties on five-plus acres in a ponderosa and lodgepole pine landscape. Lot sizes range from under a quarter acre to several acres. Some subdivisions have community water and sewer; most rely on wells and septic. Students attend Three Rivers School (K-8, Bend-La Pine Schools), with high school at Caldera or La Pine High School.
