Pilot Butte is an old cinder cone on the east side of Bend with three trails that climb through juniper and sage to the summit. From the top you get a panoramic view of the high desert and, to the west, the snowcapped Cascades, including the Three Sisters, Mt. Jefferson, Black Butte, and Mt. Hood.
