La Pine State Park follows a scenic bend of the Deschutes River south of Bend and is home to Oregon's largest ponderosa pine, thought to be more than 500 years old. The park stays open year-round for camping and day-use, with 14 miles of trails reached from the McGregor Memorial Viewpoint.
